Today we went to court.  A teenager very close to my heart had to make an appearance for attempting to steal a beer from a local grocery store.  I took my two youngest boys so that they could see what court was like.  It was an interesting experience. The first thing that made an impression was the 210 people on the docket for the morning.  210!  I know people make dumb mistakes, but 210!!!

You may not remember, but a few months ago I posted about my oldest son playing with fire.  Well, sorta, he was smoking.  Literally and figuratively playing with fire.  At the time, I called him on it and he swore up and down he wasn't a smoker.  Eventually, when caught red-handed he said, "Mom, I smoke, but I'm not a smoker." All that has changed.  He's now an official smoker and he hates it.

My Grandfather, Harold Benjamin Hill, went to be with the Lord this morning.  He was such an amazing man.  His strength, his humble spirit, and his love for his family will not be forgotten.  He loved my grandmother without bound - she, above all else, will miss him dearly.  They have been married for 77 years.  Thank you Lord for giving me a grandfather like him!  Grandpa, we'll miss you!

This year I’ve seriously been considering getting my in-laws an e-reader like a Kindle or Nook.  They both love to read, but eye-sight can be an issue at times.  The Kindle lets them increase the font size putting less strain on the eyes.  We have an older Kindle that we use all the time in our homeschool. Yesterday was a whirlwind.  My son’s apartment was ready, and he was chomping at the bit to move in. After co-op, I ran home to help him get started.  We got the U-Haul ordered and picked up – yay for a thirty dollar discount for dropping it off on the other side of town where he’s living!  Then we started packing it up.  My daughter and a friend of his were here to help.  It was just a 10ft
