Hurray for the Holidays – let it all begin!
This time of year gets me SO excited! What about you?
To me, the holidays start the first of November and continue right through to January 2nd. Time to find those Christmas stations on the radio. There are usually three – that way when a song comes on we don't like (read Mariah Carey warbling) or a commercial, I’m one button away from more Christmas music.
Time to start thinking about creative gifting. I know - Christmas isn't supposed to be commercial, but there's so much happiness in giving and seeing the light in other's eyes when they receive! I love really trying to figure out what a person wants or needs. Giving the right gift is such a joy. I can’t believe I’m behind this year – I’ve usually started shopping long before now.
The dramatic part of the Christmas Cantata at church starts practice this week. My youngest is part of the play that will coincide with the music. I get to be the Drama Director this year. That will be interesting. Giving it my best shot. lol
Several friends and I are reading the Bible in ninety days. We started September 25th so that we’d finish on Christmas Eve. It’s going to be great to have that daily reminder of the reason for the season.
Baking, decorating, celebrating, music, laughter, family, friends, and most of all Christ. What's not to love?
Are you excited? What is your favorite part of the holidays?
What's not to love is right! I'm already dragging out the decorations. My favorite traditions- Watching A Christmas Story while eating smores with the family. We all know the lines by heart . . . funniest movie ever. On Christmas Eve we watch The Nativity Story. Mary and Joseph come to life and it makes it all so real and brings our attention to true meaning of Christmas. I second the motion, "Let the Holidays begin!"
