Well - it only took me six months of on-again, off-again crocheting to accomplish, but it's finally done. When we bought the new livingroom furniture, I decided to put my new crocheting skills to good use and make an afghan to go with the new set. The problem is - I made it too long.
It took FOREVER! Short, quick projects are such fun! Long drawn out ones - not so much. Finally - it's done!
So, tell me, what do you think? Better on the beige couch or the blue one? I can't quite decide.
Congrats April!~I have made quite a few myself and they can be a pain to finish~I'm always GUNGHO and then I get bored. LOL...LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!! I love to make them out of 100% cotton...wanna make an all beige..I *FEEL* it coming on...LOL...LOL...maybe it's the change in temps...it's brrr here, today! Congrats again! ;-))
ReplyDeleteBetter on the beige - makes the blue pillows really pop. On the blue couch, the blues in the afghan get muddied. It is LOVELY, by the way.
ReplyDeletePete - agreed. I think it stands out better on the beige... :-)
ReplyDeleteSister, That's what prompted me to finish it - the cooling weather. I have some wonderful yarn and a pattern for a beautiful scarf, but I refused to let myself start until I put this one to bed. lol Ready for scarf and hat season! A snuggly, beige afghan sounds lovely!

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery nice and quite an accomplishment! I like it better on beige as well.
ReplyDeleteI finished a project yesterday too. I finally finished painting the trim in my living room and kitchen after painting the walls this summer. I still have cabinets to do, but I think I'll just save money and pay someone. I also have a little bit of kitchen walls to paint under those cabinets, but the big stuff I needed to do got done so I won't focus on what isn't done yet.
Hi Bonita, Good for you! Trim is tough to do. Not one of my favorites at all! As for cabinets, taking all the doors off and using a sprayer is the way to go. Then the frames aren't that difficult. Paying someone may be the way to go. Remember - you have to value your time and energy as well. My hubby always tells me that - put a price on the time I spend that could be accomplishing other things and then decide which is better. :-) Post pics - I want to see your accomplishment!
